DRP Accelerator®
Increasing bacteria efficiency and improving safety by eliminating H2S
DRP Chemicals logo
DRP Accelerator® is very different from traditional bacteria, enzyme, and aeration-only approaches. Rather than relying on the addition of new organisms, the technology is intended to support the bacteria already living in the lagoon by increasing the usable oxygen available to them.

Biological Wastewater Treatment Solutions for Wastewater Lagoons

• Accelerated treatment of organic solids, fats, oils and greases (FOGs) in lagoons, speeding up natural aerobic bacterial digestion by about 40x

• Significantly extends the time between mechanical cleanouts, or can even eliminate them altogether, resulting in increased efficiency and lower capital expenditures

• Turns built-up sludge into pumpable liquids that can be used for irrigation

• Reduces H2S by up to 95% to achieve safe levels

• Nitrate free, non-toxic and totally safe for people and animals

• Works by accelerating existing biological processes already present in nature

Biological Wastewater Treatment Solutions for Lift Stations

• Patented multi-function additive that cost-effectively reduces solids and eliminate odors in organic waste treatment plants and lift stations.

• Contains no formaldehyde, enzymes, nitrates, or other harmful chemicals, and comes in blocks or powder, which makes it easy to ship, store, and apply.

• Accelerates the reproduction of aerobic and facultative bacteria in wastewater systems by up to 40 times, inducing them to consume more organic solids.

• Up to 95% reduction in H2S and effective elimination of odours.

• Consumes fats, oils and greases (FOGs).

• Non-toxic (totally safe for people and animals).

• No requirement for costly pumps and other equipment and less wear on existing equipment.

Wastewater Treatment – Common Scenarios

• Too high a concentration of organic solids make many collection areas highly anaerobic, meaning there is not enough oxygen in the water to allow bacterial processes utilizing oxygen (aerobic)

• Anaerobic bacteria are not as efficient as aerobic bacteria in breaking down organic solids, and they produce foul smelling  - and dangerous - sulfide compounds (H2S)

• Aeriation with pressurized air (tanks and lagoons) can help create the aerobic conditions to increase the bacterial action – however only to a certain degree

• Treating lift stations with enzymes can also help but these treat symptoms, not the cause, are costly, and mostly do not help eliminate H2S as they get ‘flushed’ through the system (resulting in need for regular dosing at high levels)

• There is, however, a way to supercharge aerobic bacteria present in lift stations and tanks allowing them to take advantage of the abundant food source present in these systems (organic solids)

Introducing Accelerator

• DRP Chemicals’ Accelerator supplies a unique, proprietary formula of complex inorganic salts that not only supply bacteria with all the oxygen necessary, but also increase the bacterial population, activity levels, and strength. No other inorganic salt additive can provide these added benefits

• DRP Chemicals’ Accelerator is different from other traditional wastewater treatment compounds in that it is not made up of bacteria or enzymes (which already exist in sewage) but a unique blend of inorganic salts that work with and enhance naturally occurring bacteria

Accelerator Addresses Both the Causes AND Symptoms of Common Problems

PROBLEM

SYMPTOM

THE ACCELERATOR EFFECT

Anerobic bacteria produce methane and H2S

Foul odours

Supercharges aerobic bacteria – no more odours

Corrosion caused by high concentration of H2S

Corroded and damaged pipes and concrete

Aerobic process produces C02 and water – no H2S, no corrosion

High organic solids load

Frequent clogging of underground pipes, pumps and lagoon infrastructure

Supercharged aerobic bacteria consume organic solids – eliminate clogging

Fats, Oils and Greases (FOG) build-up

Clogged up pipes and Lift Stations

Supercharged aerobic bacteria consume FOGs

Regular costly mechanical dredging/solids removal needed

Reduced Lift Station and Plant capacity/efficiency

Reduces – and potentially eliminates - need for mechanical removal of solids

Treatment Strategy

• Reduce H2S producing bacteria colonies
• Add Accelerator (nutrient) into collection and processing systems to stimulate Aerobic oxygen producing bacteria
• Add Accelerator at 120 ppm to ‘shock’ system and promote aerobic bacteria growth
• Treat to minimum 10 ppm to maintain Aerobic process
• Maintain treatment to promote and sustain aerobic bacteria growth
• This will support health of cell, lift stations, forced mains and overall system

Treatment Benefits

• Accelerator reduces anaerobic bacteria and potential for H2S
• Supercharges the colonies of aerobic bacteria and stimulates high digestive rate
• Increased sludge consumption in lift stations and processing plants
• Less input stress on plant dewatering system• More efficient long-term operation of overall system
• Increased bacterial activity results in ~2 C increase in system temperature; improves consumption of solids over the winter season
